Seed choice sets your profit ceiling. Multi-harvest plants pay longer than single-pick crops. Buy what the shop actually stocked, fill the plot, then chase rarer restocks. Event and crafted seeds sit on top of the normal stall.
Shop restocks
Sam’s (or the current) seed stall does not hold every seed at once. Check it often. If a rare seed you can afford appears, buy it before the rotation. If you cannot afford it, keep farming the current plot instead of AFK-staring at the restock.
Single vs multi-harvest
Some plants give one harvest and are done. Multi-harvest crops keep paying as long as they stand. Early strawberries / blueberries style plants teach the lesson: time on the plot matters more than the sticker price of one carrot.
When to upgrade
Move up a seed tier when you can replant the whole plot without going broke. A mixed garden of one legendary and a bunch of empty tiles is worse than a full cheap garden. Events add extra seeds and packs — treat those as bonuses, not the core loop.
