RIVALS Loadouts & Weapons

Loadouts have four slots: Primary, Secondary, Melee, and Utility. Start with Assault Rifle, Handgun, Fists, and Grenade. Unlock more weapons with Keys earned from matches and contracts.

How loadouts work

Every player equips four items: Primary weapon (main gun), Secondary weapon (backup gun), Melee (close-range or mobility tool), and Utility (grenades, throwables).

The starter loadout is Assault Rifle, Handgun, Fists, and Grenade. This covers mid-range combat, backup firepower, quick movement, and utility pressure without requiring unlocks.

Unlocking weapons with Keys

Keys unlock new weapons and skins. The game does not publish exact Key earn rates; check the in-game progression interface for current sources like match wins, contracts, and streaks.

Before spending Keys, decide what your loadout needs: closer burst damage, longer range, better movement, defense, sightline control, or sustain. Check the in-game shop for current costs, as community price lists can become outdated.

Beginner loadout ideas

Balanced starter: Assault Rifle, Handgun, Scythe, Grenade or Molotov. This gives you steady mid-range damage, backup firepower, mobility, and utility.

Aggressive: Shotgun, Revolver, Katana, Grenade. Close-range burst with fast swap and melee pressure.

Long-range: Burst Rifle, fast secondary like Uzi, mobility melee, Grenade. Focus on holding angles and escaping when fights get forced close.

When to swap loadouts

Default Duel mode locks everyone to the same loadout, so loadout choice does not matter there. In standard duels and Ranked, you can swap loadouts between rounds, but Ranked limits you to two swaps per match.

Swap loadouts when the map or enemy playstyle demands it. Long sightlines favor rifles and snipers; tight corridors favor shotguns and SMGs.
