How to Play RIVALS
RIVALS is a Roblox FPS where two teams duel in short matches. The first side to win five rounds takes the match. Use the starter loadout, practice movement, and focus on aim and positioning.
What you are doing
RIVALS is a fast-paced FPS where matches are broken into rounds. Each round ends when one team eliminates all opponents. The first team to win five rounds wins the match.
You start each round with your chosen loadout: Primary weapon, Secondary weapon, Melee, and Utility. Use cover, aim carefully, and coordinate with teammates to secure eliminations.
First session checklist
Before jumping into matches, complete these steps to learn the game:
- Enter the Shooting Range from the lobby
- Complete the Beginner Tasks: break 5 targets, slide 3 times, equip and dash with a Scythe, throw a Grenade, land 5 eliminations
- Play a Beginner 2v2 duel to get comfortable with the round loop
- Learn the starter loadout: Assault Rifle, Handgun, Fists, and Grenade
- Practice sprint-slide-jump movement in a safe area before using it in fights
Controls and movement
WASD moves your character. Left-click fires your weapon, right-click aims down sights. Sprint with Left Shift, crouch with Left Ctrl, and slide by running into a crouch.
To perform the sprint-slide-jump combo, sprint, then crouch to slide, then jump while sliding. This carries momentum and helps you move between cover quickly. Practice the timing slowly, then speed it up.
Starter loadout explained
You begin with four free items: Assault Rifle for mid-range fights, Handgun as a backup, Fists for quick movement, and Grenade to pressure enemies behind cover.
This loadout covers all basic jobs without requiring unlocks. Use the Assault Rifle as your main weapon, swap to Handgun if you need to reload in a bad spot, and throw Grenades to force enemies out of strong positions.
How to win rounds
Treat each round as new information. Watch where opponents open, which lanes they repeat, and how they use utility. Adjust your positioning based on what you learn.
Keep most of your body behind cover, place your crosshair near angles enemies are likely to peek, and expose only enough to take the shot. Swap weapons instead of reloading in the open.
