RIVALS Game Modes Guide
RIVALS offers 1v1 to 5v5 duels, Ranked matchmaking, Free-for-All, Team Deathmatch, Gun Game, and rotating modes. Each mode tests different skills.
Standard duels
The core of RIVALS is standard duels: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5. The first team to win five rounds takes the match. These modes use your custom loadouts and test aim, positioning, and teamwork.
Start with Beginner 2v2 to learn the basics, then move to 1v1 for pure aim practice or larger team modes for coordination. Default Duel strips away loadouts and gives everyone the same gear, testing raw skill.
Ranked mode
Ranked is available in 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 after meeting unlock requirements: Level 100, 10 standard duels, 30 completed tasks, a verified Roblox account, and a 14-day-old account. After 10 placement matches, you are assigned a rank from Bronze (0 ELO) to Archnemesis (top 200).
Ranked has stricter rules: aim assist cut by 50%, loadout swaps limited to two per match, and map/weapon bans before the match. As of Update 22, matchmaking is region-locked.
Arcade modes
Free-for-All (FFA): Chaotic multi-kill practice. Wait for two players to weaken each other, then secure the elimination.
Team Deathmatch: First team to a kill threshold wins. Focus on survival and teamwork.
Gun Game: Fixed weapon rotation. Knowing the order gives you an advantage. Progress by scoring eliminations with each weapon.
Rotating and special modes
RIVALS has 21+ game modes, many of which rotate daily. Examples include Juggernaut (one overpowered player vs hunters), Swift Standoff (one-shot elimination), and Bunny Sniping (low-gravity sniper combat).
Check the mode of the day before queuing. Some modes restrict your inventory or change movement dramatically, so adjust your playstyle accordingly.
